Skoda has released a second teaser image of its sub-four-metre compact SUV that will be launched in India early next year. The picture shows rectangular taillights, a chunky rear bumper and a sloping glasshouse. We also see a large Skoda logo on the roof rails and in the centre of the tailgate.
We guess that this is a teaser image of a concept car, but as various spy images show, the production-ready model will look much more similar to the Kushaq SUV. Indeed, the shape shown in the spy images shows a Kushaq-like silhouette up to the C-pillar, but what is most notable is that the overall length of the SUV has been shortened.

This will be Skoda’s third product for India under its 2.0 programme. It is a key launch as the company is looking for a top-selling car that will put it on track to achieve a 5% market share by 2030. Logically, it will be powered by the group’s 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 114 PS/178 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Once launched, the car will compete with the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Brezza, Maruti Frontier, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taser, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
