Indian launch The fourth-generation BMW X3 will be premiered at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025. The car will arrive here in India, available in two forms: X3 20d diesel and X3 20 petrol, the latter making a comeback to local showrooms after more than a year since it was discontinued for this sub-continent.
The X3 makes a public bow this June, retaining a familiar silhouette but with a new face and rear end. BMW has picked up much of the styling from the iX and gone for blocky shapes rather than rounded edges that dominate the previous-generation model. BMW has gone big into minimalism, and that’s most visible in the cabin, where you get a massive screen offering most functions and dominating the dashboard.

On the engine front, the X3 20 petrol is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit producing 206bhp and 320Nm while the diesel is the X3 20d producing 197bhp and 400Nm. The engine gets an eight-speed AT as standard. BMW will not bring the six-cylinder 30d to India but we will, at some point in 2025, get a performance-oriented M50 variant in limited numbers.
Enter the BMW X3 in the fray with the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, and the Volvo XC60 in this new generation. The new X3, irrespective of the two engine options, is expected to be priced between Rs.68 lakh to Rs. 70 lakh, ex-showroom.
