Kia India has announced a voluntary recall of 1,138 units of its EV6 SUV manufactured between March 3, 2022 and April 14, 2023. The recall is regarding a potential fault in the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) that may impact the performance of the 12-volt auxiliary battery.

Kia plans to resolve the issue by updating the affected units’ Integrated Charging Control Unit software. The carmaker will directly notify affected vehicle owners about this voluntary recall and resolve the issue. The EV6 is available in India as a CBU model in GT Line and GT Line AWD forms.
Both draw energy from the same 77.4 kWh battery, while the former produces 226 horsepower, the latter produces 321 horsepower. Kia is expected to launch its second electric vehicle, the EV9, in India by the end of this year.
