The Porsche Macan, now in its second generation as a pure electric vehicle, was launched globally in January this year. Only the Turbo variant made it onto the stage at the launch, and apart from international markets, it was also available in India for Rs 1.65 crore (currently Rs 1.69 crore ex-showrooms).

Now, the German carmaker has unveiled two more variants of the Macan EV to be sold in India. The entry-level Standard model is priced at Rs 1.22 crore, while the mid-range 4S model is available for Rs 1.39 crore (all prices ex-showroom, pan-India).
The top-of-the-line Turbo produces 630 hp and 1,130 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, while the standard version has around 360 hp and 563 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a quick 5.7 seconds and has a range of up to 641 km in the WLTP cycle.
Meanwhile, the 4S produces almost 515 hp (448 hp in standard boost mode) and 820 Nm, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. It has a range of up to 606 km in the WLTP cycle. Both the standard model and the 4S, like the Turbo version, have a 100 kWh battery with 800-volt architecture and a DC fast charging capacity of 270 kW.
Both the standard car and the 4S are equipped with electronically controlled active suspension, but the 4S also has rear-wheel steering and torque vectoring (like Porsche’s PTV) with a fully variable rear differential lock. This standard model is only offered in a single-motor configuration mounted on the rear axle, so it is 110 kg lighter than the dual-motor all-wheel drive 4S.
There aren’t many changes to the design or interior, but all Macan variants get a new Slate Grey exterior paint finish. Porsche is also offering a range of packages for its second electric SUV, including an off-road package if you don’t mind paying more money, which adds slightly different bumpers for improved approach angles and contrast-painted side skirts and diffuser. Global deliveries are expected to begin later this year.
The new-generation Macan EV is also expected to arrive in India at the same time.
