Citroen India is set to launch the C3 Aircross-based Basalt Coupe SUV in the country. The launch date is set for August 2, 2024, with a pricing announcement coming in the coming weeks. As seen in the teaser images and some spy photos, the Basalt flaunts the typical Citroen face with its signature two-slat grille that stretches to the Citroen logo.

Additionally, the Coupe flaunts a more aggressive front bumper with a wider grille. Other design elements include folding door handles, wraparound LED taillights, squared wheel arches, and a raised tailgate trim. Moreover, the Basalt will have thick cladding all around to accentuate its chunky look.
In terms of features, the Basalt Coupe is likely to come with automatic climate control, auto-dimming IRVM, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity and a digital dashboard. In terms of technology, the French carmaker will equip the Basalt with the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine found in the C3 Aircross.
This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and a torque converter automatic transmission and will produce a maximum power of 109 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Once it arrives, the Citroen Basalt will begin a fierce competition with the upcoming Tata Curve. The latter is due to debut soon and will be offered as both an internal combustion engine and an electric vehicle.
