Mahindra gives away Thar ROXX #1 to auction-winning buyer

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, India’s leading SUV manufacturer handed over the first-ever Thar ROXX VIN 001 to the winner of an extremely aggressive online auction Mr. Aakash Minda. Mr. Minda bid ₹1.31 crore for securing the first VIN 001 Thar ROXX outbidding the other 20 aggressive active bidders. The online auction was held on carandbike.com from September 15 to 16, 2024.

The auction, with a total of over 10,980 registrations, ended with a winning bid of ₹1.31 crore. Mr. Minda chose the color Nebula Blue from a palette of seven options that looked like pin-up girls.

The SUV, handed over in New Delhi by Manjari Upadhye, CMO, Mahindra Automotive, carries an exclusive badge signed by Mahindra Group Chairman Mr. Anand Mahindra accompanied with a decorative branding plate marked 001, making it stand out more as a collector’s item.

The proceeds from the auction were credited to Naandi Foundation, one of the registered not-for-profit organizations participating in the initiative. Mahindra matched the winning bid to double the amount of money raised for this charitable cause.

Mahindra First Choice Wheels conducted the auction on the carandbike.com platform. The entire process of bidding was overseen by Ernst & Young.
