There have been new car launches and updates galore for new cars in India in the last complete week of September 2024. Tata brought out the Nexon CNG, and refreshed updates of its Nexon EV besides introducing ‘special editions’ of two SUVs by MG for the festive season 2024. The debut timing of Skoda’s first-ever sub-4m SUV for India and an update on the launch timing of the 2024 Maruti Dzire are also part of this. Here are all the top stories of the week.

Skoda Kylaq Debut Date Out
The Kylaq is Skoda’s sub-4m SUV, which will come to India early next year. This one is quite a long way ahead of a price announcement from the manufacturer, but it has still been confirmed that the Kylaq will debut soon for the world.
Tata Nexon CNG Launched
It has become the first car in India to offer an option of CNG under its turbo-petrol engine and the first in its segment to receive a CNG vehicle with a panoramic sunroof. Tata Motors has also updated its Nexon EV and launched the Red Dark.
The Tata Nexon EV received a recent update, with only a few changes in its electric powertrain and feature set. Apart from that, the company also launched it in the new Red Dark edition.
New Car Launches Nissan Magnite Facelift Teased
For Hector, MG has brought forward the ‘Snowstorm’ editions for 5-seater Hector as well as 6- and 7-seater versions of Hector Plus, in time for the festive season of 2024. Meanwhile, it has reinstated the ‘Blackstorm’ edition for Astor, available for a limited period.
Mahindra Thar Roxx 4×4 Variants Launched
Mahindra recently launched the 4×2 variants of the Thar Roxx back in August 2024. The SUV’s 4WD (4-wheel-drive) variant price has been disclosed now. The 4WD variant is available with the diesel engine only.
2024 Maruti Dzire Possible Launch Date Out
Here’s an update on when the best-selling sedan of Maruti, Dzire, will make an entry into the sales market in its generational update.
The list ranges from some of the most awaited models like the Mahindra Thar Roxx to 1 of 500 limited editions like the BMW XM Label Red. Multiple new releases were witnessed in September; however, October is not that kind of busy month. Nevertheless, car makers from almost every segment have lined up new launches to capitalise on the festive season.
New Car Launches: 2024 Kia Carnival
Launch Date: 3rd October
Expected Price: Rs 40 lakh
Kia is going to launch two new models in India on 3rd October 2024. Among them is the 2024 Carnival. The carmaker has unveiled the premium MPV, and the booking process has begun. The car is expected to be priced at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s a brief overview of it.
It will sport a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, front-powered and ventilated seats, an automatic climate control system, and connected car tech.
These new car launches would get its heart and soul- a 193 PS/441 Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine, mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The Kia EV9 is a luxury alternative to the Maruti Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross.
New Car Launches: Kia EV9
Launch Date: October 3
Expected Price: Rs 80 lakh
To be alongside the Carnival, Kia will launch its most expensive all-electric offering in India, the EV9, which is going to be sold as a fully imported model and is likely to be priced at around Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Kia will offer the EV9 with a 99.8 kWh battery pack and a dual motor setup that would pump out 384 PS and 700 Nm, delivering a claimed range of 561 km, although it will come equipped with features like a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, power-adjustable seats for all the rows, and ambient lighting.
Upon launch, it will compete against the likes of the Audi Q8 e-tron and BMW iX, besides the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.
Nissan Magnite Facelift
Launch Date: October 4
Expected Price: Rs 6.30 lakh
Nissan has teased the 2024 Magnite facelift. The model will hit Indian shores on 4th October and style updates will be accompanied by a refreshed cabin which can potentially feature a larger infotainment system.
The updated 2024 Magnite is almost certainly going to remain an engine-lineup carryover of the current model, meaning it will get the same two engine options: a 72 PS 1-litre naturally-aspirated2024 Magnite facelifted petrol unit and a 100 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol unit.

All these new car launches will be available with manual as well as automatic transmission engine choices.
BYD eMAX 7
Launch Date: 8 October
Tentative Price: Rs 30 Lakh
BYD e6 Facelift or eMAX 7 Launching in India on 8th October 2024. BYD also revealed a special benefit offer for the first 1,000 bookings of this electric MPV with some exceptional features like a 12.8-inch rotating Touchscreen Infotainment system, Wireless phone charger, panoramic glass roof, and ventilated front seats among others.
Safety will comprise six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, Level-2 ADAS and all-wheel disc brakes. The same powertrain options will be offered in other markets, while the claimed ranges are up to 530km but not confirmed for India.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB
Launch Date: October 9
Expected Price: Rs 80 lakh
Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the 2024 E-Class on October 9, following its debut this month. The new-generation E-Class, borrowing so much of the aesthetic cues from the more recent S-class sibling, looks slick and beautiful. So, inside it sits a triple screen layout fitted with an integrated 14.4-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a separate 12.3-inch display for the front passenger.
Features-wise, it will get a four-zone climate control system, panoramic sunroof, 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system, and powered front seats.
The new E-Class is supposed to be launched with two engine options – a 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 2-litre diesel. The former will go hand in hand with a mild-hybrid system. The price is expected to be higher than Rs 80 lakh ex-showroom.
